La neurocirugía, también llamada neurología quirúrgica ó cirugía neurológica, es la rama de la medicina que se ocupa de tratar principalmente por medio de cirugía y secundariamente por fármacos, enfermedades del sistema nervioso, incluyendo el cerebro y la médula espinal, de la misma forma que sus anexos, como lo son nervios, vasos, huesos y articulaciones.
Las enfermedades más frecuentes de las cuales se ocupa esta especialidad, son:
1.- Trastornos de las arterias carótidas tanto dentro como fuera del cráneo (cervical) y de las arterias vertebrales.
2.- Trastornos de la hipófisis o glándula pituitaria.
3.- Tumores cerebrales y estructuras cercanas a este (meninges, nervios, vasos)
4.- Trastornos de la médula espinal y sus meninges.
5.- Trastornos de la columna vertebral, sus articulaciones y ligamentos (columna cervical, torácica y lumbar), incluyendo los trastornos en los que es necesario eliminar o sustituir los discos intervertebrales o realizar una fusión espinal o una maniobra
instrumental de las vértebras.
6.- Trastornos de los nervios periféricos.
Los cirujanos que están especializados en neurocirugía o cirugía neurológica reciben
el nombre de neurocirujanos.
Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.» She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
I do enjoy the way you have framed this specific issue and it really does give us some fodder for thought. Nonetheless, from just what I have observed, I simply just trust as other reviews pile on that folks continue to be on issue and not get started on a tirade associated with the news of the day.
